School panel to meet Aug. 26, make recommendations

A panel of 40 community members has been organized to gather information and look towards solutions for the future regarding the finances of the Barron Area School District.
The panel has met three times with approximately 25 members attending each time. Questions were asked and information provided on numerous topics ranging from enrollment, class size, salaries, budgets and budget projections and benefits.
All staffing contracts are settled with the exception of the teachers' contract, which could have a significant impact on the school's budget.
The panel will meet again Monday, Aug. 26, to come up with a recommendation to the board of education.
