Drum Corps International will perform Monday, Aug. 2 at the Rice Lake High School sports complex in a show to benefit the music programs in the Rice Lake, Barron, Cameron, Cumberland and Chetek school districts.
The performance, being called Rhythm Across Rice Lake, will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature a competition among seven open class drum corps from around North America.
Drum Corps is a combination of percussion, brass and color guard performances. Each is choreographed around a series of music selections.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at Market Place Foods, the Community Bank of Cameron or members of the Rice Lake Band Booster Club. All seating is general seating, with the gates opening at 5:30 p.m. A tailgate party barbecue will be available sponsored by the Booster Club.
All proceeds will go to the local school districts' music programs. The Corps will be housed in these area schools during their visit and will practice on the football fields.
